Well over one million people are now a part of NewLifeOutlook chronic illness support communities on Facebook.
Since its launch in early 2014, NewLifeOutlook has strived to provide valuable information and support for people living with chronic health conditions ranging from fibromyalgia and COPD to type 2 diabetes. Facebook has been a big part of that from day one.
Now nearly 1,200,000 people, the vast majority of them women living in the United States, gather on NewLifeOutlook’s Facebook pages to share their stories and support one another through difficult times.
The messages of appreciation these community members post speak volumes.
“Thank you for all you do to support all of us who struggle with every day,” writes one fibromyalgia community member.
Another member, from the depression community, sums up one of NewLifeOutlook’s main goals: “Man was I happy to come across this website. Now I don’t have to feel so alone.”
For NewLifeOutlook community manager Alyssa Winegarden, messages like this make the hard work that goes into the support network all worth it, and surpassing one million community members is an exciting milestone.
“It makes me so proud when I see how supportive, encouraging, and loyal our community members are,” she says.
“NewLifeOutlook is a safe place for them to come together, find helpful resources and support, and most importantly receive affirmation that they are not alone.”
As NewLifeOutlook’s Facebook pages continue to grow, its total reach on the social networking site — already over 25 million each month — will continue to grow, too.
